The exhibition unifies an outstanding selection of paintings, woodcuts and other works on paper from the renowned collections of the Osthaus Museum Hagen and the Aargauer Kunsthaus. Consisting of more than 130 artworks from 1905 to 1938, the selection includes works of all important members of the artist-groups \u201cBr\u00fccke\u201d and \u201cDer Blaue Reiter\u201d, like Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Emil Nolde, August Macke, Alexej von Jawlensky and Franz Marc. The show provides a profound insight into the colorful and expressive works of these young individualists, who revolutionized the iconographic conventions with the aid of their radical subjectiveness.<\/p>\n
